University Preparation Programme

The University Preparation Programme at Montanuniversität Leoben offers you the chance to prepare for supplementary examinations in German or English as well as for supplementary examinations for the subjects Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Descriptive Geometry. You can take the corresponding supplementary exams as part of this programme or also independently. If you pass these exams, you will be well prepared for your studies at Montanuniversität Leoben.

You can complete the University Preparation Programme within 3 semesters. It always starts in the winter semester. If no supplementary exams for languages are required and you only have to take supplementary examinations in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and/or Descriptive Geometry, you can complete the programme within 1 to 2 semesters. The exact duration depends on the number of subjects at the start of the summer semester.

Requirements for participating

• Valid admission letter from Montanuniversität Leoben
• Enrolment in the University Preparation Programme at the Study Support Center
• Registration at the office of the University Preparation Programme
• Paid union and tuition fees for the programme

How to sign up and enrol

1. You have already received an admission letter from Montanuniversität Leoben which requires you to take one or more supplementary examinations before the start of your study programme and you would like to take these as part of the University Preparation Programme at Montanuniversität Leoben.
2. Enrol in the University Preparation Programme UG 992 840 at the Study Support Center in good time before the start of the course.
3. Inform the office of the University Preparation Programme about your planned participation. They will give all the necessary information about the tuition fees for the programme.
4. Pay the tuition fees for the University Preparation Programme.

Start of programme: October 1^st, 2023
End of programme: January 31^st, 2024

Summer semester
Start of programme: March 1^st, 2023
End of programme: June 30^th, 2023

Examinations

Montanuniversität Leoben offers at least three examination dates for each course per academic year. The dates are coordinated by the office of the University Preparation Programme.

The costs of the University Preparation Programme consist of a semester fee for the course itself and the student union fee, as well as a course fee per registered course. There is no examination fee.

Course fee: € 471 per semester (regardless of the number of courses attended).

Student union fee: € 22.70 per semester in academic year 23/24

Course fee: € 50,- per course

Example 1:

You start the pre-study course in WS 23/24 and plan to take the course "German as a foreign language B1.1 intensive":

Total amount to be transferred in September 2023: € 543.70

If further courses are to be attended in the winter semester, € 50,- each must be paid at the time of registration.
