HUNTING FOR EXCELLENCE for the year 2025
The Dr Franz Josef Mayer-Gunthof Foundation of the Federation of Austrian Industries will continue to award scholarships to students who are about to complete their studies in 2025.
Under the motto "Hunting for Excellence", it aims to contribute to the development of industry-relevant topics of the future.
In 2025, financial support totalling around € 8,000 will be provided. Expected distribution: 2 x € 2,500, the remaining € 3,000 will be divided according to the quality of the respective applications.
Closing date for applications: 06.10.2025
The foundation has both an economic and scientific focus. It supports studies for the acquisition of skills and the deepening of the respective specialised foreign language skills at top international institutes in education, science and research.

Scholarship for the promotion of unfinished scientific work
Funding scholarships are intended to support ongoing academic theses (Master's theses and dissertations) of regular students whose work incurs special costs (e.g., stays abroad, conference participation, or the undertaking of cost-intensive academic projects).
Eligible applicants are regular students of Montanuniversität Leoben who are Austrian citizens or persons with equivalent status according to § 4 of the Austrian Student Support Act (StudFG).
A funding scholarship must not be less than EUR 750 and must not exceed EUR 3,600 per academic year. The award is granted under private-sector administration.

Merit-Based Scholarship for the Academic Year 2024/25
Merit-based scholarships serve to recognize outstanding academic achievements by regular students who are Austrian citizens or persons with equivalent status pursuant to § 4 of the Student Support Act (StudFG).
The merit-based scholarship must not be less than EUR 750.00 and must not exceed EUR 1,500.00 for two semesters. In order to enable as many students as possible to receive a scholarship, Montanuniversität Leoben has set the upper limit at EUR 850.00.
