Information on completing the doctoral programme

Ready to complete the doctoral studies?

Have you completed all the required examinations according to your individual curriculum?
Have you selected and informed two examiners for the defence and two assessors for the dissertation?
Have you completed all the necessary steps for the full submission of your dissertation on MUonline and entered all the required information?
Have you used the official MUL title page (download from MUonline) and converted the full text to pdf/A format?
For cumulative dissertations: Have you created a table explaining the percentage input of the doctoral candidate and co-authors? (add the table without signatures into the dissertation and personally-submit the table with the signatures of the co-authors.)
Have you created a table for the ‘Declaration on the use of AI-based tools for theses’ and added it as an appendix to the full text?
Full-text document of the dissertation, signed affidavit and signed declaration of consent uploaded to MUonline?
Have you clarified whether the dissertation must be blocked and if so, have you signed any blocking request and uploaded it to MUonline?
Have you had the library stamp the non-binding declaration?
Have you filled out the survey form for study-related stays abroad (UhStat 2)?
(Please note: the UhStat survey form must be filled out and uploaded even if you have not completed a study-related stay abroad!)
Have you notified the SSC in case your personal address and telephone number have changed?

Note: Do not have your dissertation bound (identical to the version uploaded to MU-Online!) until you receive confirmation from the SSC!

After successfully passing your defense, you will receive an email invitation containing organizational details 2 to 3 weeks before the academic ceremony.

Registration/cancellation for the ceremony attendance is required in any case and can be done immediately after passing your defense!
