TalentTicket – Support Scholarship for National Bachelor’s Students at Montanuniversität Leoben
To recognize outstanding academic achievement at the beginning of a bachelor's degree and to promote sustainable mobility, Montanuniversität Leoben awards 150 scholarships to domestic students.
These guidelines govern the awarding of scholarships to domestic students who were admitted to a bachelor's degree programme at Montanuniversität Leoben for the first time during the 2025/2026 academic year.
Scholarship recipients will receive a one-time reimbursement for the cost of a non-transferable annual or semester public transport pass (e.g. the Klimaticket Österreich, regional Klimatickets, Top-Ticket for Students, or equivalent), up to the full ticket price, with a maximum reimbursement of €300. At the time of application, the ticket must be valid in accordance with Section 5(2) and issued in the name of the scholarship recipient.
Successful applicants will be notified of the scholarship award by 31 October 2026 at the latest via their official university student email account ("studmail").
No separate application is required.

Styrian Economic Chamber Scholarships (WKO)
The Styrian Economic Chamber (WKO Styria) is offering research scholarships for the academic year 2026/27.
The funding period for the 2026/27 academic year is set from January to June 2027. The scholarship amounts to a total of €2,500.

HUNTING FOR EXCELLENCE for the year 2026
The Dr Franz Josef Mayer-Gunthof Foundation of the Federation of Austrian Industries will continue to award scholarships to students who are about to complete their studies in 2026.
Under the motto "Hunting for Excellence", it aims to contribute to the development of industry-relevant topics of the future.
In 2025, financial support totalling around € 8,000 will be provided. Expected distribution: 2 x € 2,500, the remaining € 3,000 will be divided according to the quality of the respective applications.

The foundation has both an economic and scientific focus. It supports studies for the acquisition of skills and the deepening of the respective specialised foreign language skills at top international institutes in education, science and research.

Highly Gifted Scholarship of the Rotary Club Innsbruck 2026
Since 1988, Rotary Club Innsbruck has supported young people with outstanding academic achievements, exceptional versatility, and the potential to make a responsible contribution to science, culture, and society. The scholarship is open to applicants from across Austria and is endowed with €5,000.
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
→ They are currently studying at, or have completed a degree at, an Austrian university, higher education institution, or university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule).
→ They have not yet reached their 30th birthday by the application deadline.
→ They have successfully completed a bachelor’s degree, the first stage of a diploma programme, or a comparable stage of study.
→ They can demonstrate excellent academic performance as well as outstanding achievements or substantial engagement beyond their studies.
The scholarship is not contingent on financial need. Submission of an application does not establish any legal entitlement to its processing or to the award of the scholarship.

Scholarship for the promotion of unfinished scientific work
Funding scholarshipsare awarded to support ongoing academic theses (master's theses and doctoral dissertations) undertaken by students enrolled in regular degree programmes that incur exceptional expenses (e.g. research stays abroad, conference participation, or the execution of cost-intensive research activities).
Applications may be submitted by regular students at the Montanuniversität Leoben who are Austrian citizens or persons with equivalent status in accordance with Section 4 of the Austrian Student Support Act (StudFG).
Applications for a research grant must be submitted via the Scholarship Platform tile on your personal MUOnline homepage between 15 August and 31 October 2026.

Merit-Based Scholarship for the Academic Year 2025/26
Merit scholarships are awarded in recognition of outstanding academic performance by students enrolled in regular degree programmes who are Austrian citizens or are considered equivalent under Section 4 of the Austrian Student Support Act (StudFG).
Eligible applicants are regular students at Montanuniversität Leoben who are Austrian citizens or are considered equivalent under Section 4 of the StudFG.

Applications for a merit scholarship must be submitted via the "Scholarship Platform" tile on your personal MUonline homepage. Graduates without access to MUonline can submit their application via the scholarship platform.

Houskapreis 2027
The Houskapreis, awarded by the B&C Private Foundation, recognises outstanding research and development with a strong connection to the business sector in Austria. The prestigious research award is endowed with a total of €760,000.
Submissions are open from 1 September to 28 October 2026.
Innovative projects are recognised in three categories: University Research, Non-University Research, and Research & Development in SMEs. The evaluation focuses in particular on the level of innovation and the resulting economic impact.
The winners of each category will receive €150,000, the second-place recipients €70,000, and the third-place recipients €30,000.
The award ceremony will take place in Vienna on 20 April 2027. In addition, a student jury will present the Mariella Schurz Award, endowed with €10,000.
