Socio-economic challenges

Financial burdens, family obligations, and social conditions can make studying more difficult. At Montanuniversität Leoben (MUL), students have access to various support services across a wide range of topics.

Financial support and relief services

When study costs, rising living expenses, or unplanned expenses create additional challenges, this can directly affect the duration of studies, academic success, and the planning of a stay abroad - even when such a period would be beneficial for professional development. Montanuniversität Leoben and the ÖH Leoben, as well as Erasmus+, therefore offer a range of financial relief and support services.

You can submit the following applications to the Study Support Center (SSC) to obtain temporary financial relief:

The International Relations and European University Office website provides an overview of all currently offered mobility funding programmes. Erasmus+ in particular, aims to promote equal opportunities. For instance, students with disabilities or chronic illnesses, as well as students with accompanying children, can apply for inclusion support (reimbursement of evidenced additional costs) and monthly top-ups of €250.

Eligible applicants include regular MUL students in the Erasmus+ programme as well as KA171 incoming students. For incoming students from countries included in this programme, the home university is the responsible point of contact.
